Sensei Dominick Mariano
Isshinryu Karate Instructor
Sensei Dominick Mariano began his karate career while a Marine overseas. He has trained in boxing, Judo, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido and grappling. He began his study of Isshinryu karate in 1988 while living in New Jersey where he studied under Shihan Marvin Carmona. After six years he earned his black belt from Shihan Carmona. He then moved to Massachusetts where he continued studying Isshinryu karate under Sensei Dana Zeidler, a fifth degree black belt. After receiving his second-degree black belt from Sensei Zeidler he earned his teaching certificate which is certified by Master Angi Uezu. Master Uezu is the President of the Okinawa Isshinryu Karate and Kobudo Association which is based in Okinawa, Japan. This certificate afforded Mr. Mariano the title of "Sensei". He is currently 5th degree black belt.
When Sensei Zeidler moved to Florida, Sensei Mariano began training at USA Karate, a dojo in Northborough where he was also an instructor. After four years of teaching in this dojo, Sensei Mariano became the sole owner and instructor renaming the dojo Dominick's Isshinryu Family Karate Center.
Sensei Mariano has participated in the PAL program at Proctor School in Northborough, where he volunteered to teach karate to two classes a week.
Sensei Mariano's school is family oriented with classes attended by children and parents. He teaches a traditional martial art, where his philosophy is "Serious training for the serious martial artist".
